Soups recipes

A hot soup is the heart of the table: it warms us in winter, restores our strength when we are ill, and is irreplaceable the morning after a big feast. Georgian cuisine has a large family of soups (chikhirtma, kharcho, bean soup, shechamandi) and almost every region has its own version.

Here you will find classic Georgian soups as well as popular recipes from other cuisines: vegetable cream soups, broths, soups with meat and lenten ones. Each recipe lists the ingredients, cooking time, step-by-step instructions and calories per serving.

A few tips:

  • A clear broth: simmer it over low heat and skim the foam in time.
  • Herbs: add them at the very end so they keep their aroma.
  • The next day: many soups, kharcho and bean soup among them, taste even better reheated.

Change the number of servings and the ingredients are recalculated automatically. To see lenten soups, add the "Lenten" filter.
