This document is a template and is not legal advice. Have it reviewed by a qualified lawyer before relying on it.
This policy sets out what advertising we place on chefy.ge and in the Chefy app, how we label it and what requirements an advertiser must meet. It applies to banners, sponsored content, sponsors' gifts and any other form of advertising. The specific terms of an advertising placement (duration, price, position) are set by the contract concluded between Chefy and the advertiser; this policy forms part of that contract.
Effective from: upon publication
1. Labelling of advertising
- All advertising is clearly labelled with the word "Ad" (in the Georgian version — "რეკლამა", in the Russian version — "Реклама").
- A sponsored recipe, article or gift is labelled: "Sponsor: [Name]" or "Gift offered by: [Name]".
- Hidden advertising is not allowed: we do not publish paid content as if it were the independent opinion of our editorial team or of a user.
- The position and design of advertising are determined by Chefy in such a way that it is easy to distinguish from the rest of the website's content.
2. General requirements for advertising
Advertising must:
- comply with the Law of Georgia on Advertising, the Law of Georgia on the Protection of Consumer Rights and other legislation;
- be in Georgian (text in another language may be added); a foreign trademark may remain in its original form;
- be truthful and not mislead consumers — including about price, discounts, composition, origin and properties;
- state prices in GEL, including all mandatory taxes and additional charges;
- not use another person's name, image or trademark without the right to do so;
- not contain unethical, discriminatory, offensive or violent images;
- link to a page (landing page) that is lawful, safe and consistent with the content of the advertisement.
3. Prohibited advertising
We do not place advertising relating to:
- gambling and prize games, betting, casinos, lotteries and totalisators, as well as prize draws and promotions run by their organisers;
- tobacco, electronic cigarettes, heated tobacco and other nicotine-containing products;
- prescription-only medicines and medicines not registered in Georgia;
- food supplements and other products that promise to treat, prevent or diagnose a disease or are presented as medicines;
- promises of rapid weight loss, or claims that not eating a particular food is harmful to health;
- weapons, explosives, narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances;
- adult content and dating services;
- financial pyramids, "get rich quick" schemes, speculative crypto-asset offers and multi-level marketing;
- political advertising and pre-election campaigning;
- goods or services whose sale is prohibited by law, or for which the advertiser does not hold the required licence or permit.
4. Restricted advertising
- Alcoholic beverages — allowed only with the warning required by law about the harm of excessive alcohol consumption (in the wording the law prescribes), without any association with health, sporting or social success, and must not be aimed at minors. We do not show such advertising in sections intended for children or, as far as possible, to users under 18.
- Food, drinks and food supplements — nutrition and health claims (for example, "rich in protein", "boosts immunity") are allowed only in accordance with the procedure established by law.
- Advertising that children may see — must not urge children to ask their parents to buy something, must not depict dangerous situations and must not minimise the price with expressions such as "only".
5. Advertiser's responsibility
- The advertiser is responsible for the content of the advertising and its compliance with the law, for the advertised goods and services, and for the necessary permits and the rights of third parties.
- Chefy is responsible for the time, position and format of the advertising placement.
- If, because of an advertisement, a claim is brought against Chefy, or a fine or an obligation to publish corrective advertising is imposed on it, the advertiser will compensate the damage and costs in accordance with the contract.
6. Our rights
- Chefy may refuse to place advertising, require it to be changed, or suspend and remove advertising that has already been placed, if it is contrary to this policy or the law, or if we have received a substantiated complaint about it.
- Advertisers' tracking codes (pixels, third-party cookies) are not allowed on the website without Chefy's prior written consent. We do not pass users' personal data to advertisers; an advertiser receives only aggregate statistics (views, clicks).
- We keep advertising materials for at least 2 months after the placement ends and, in the event of a dispute, until the dispute is concluded.
7. Complaints about advertising
If an advertisement is misleading or offensive, or breaks the law, write to us at [email protected]. We will review the complaint and, where necessary, remove the advertisement.
8. Placing advertising
If you would like to advertise with us, write to us at [email protected]. We will send you our prices, formats and a draft contract.
