This page explains how to delete your Chefy account and the data associated with it. It applies to the website chefy.ge and to the Chefy mobile app (Android and iOS), which are developed and operated by Chefy. One account works on both the website and the app, so deleting it in one place deletes it in both.
1. How to delete your account
In the app: open Profile → Settings → "Delete account" → confirm.
On the website: sign in to your account → My account → Settings → "Delete account" → confirm.
By email (if you no longer have the app or cannot sign in to your account): write to [email protected] from the email address you used to create the account, with the subject "Delete account". If the message comes from a different address, we may ask you for additional information to verify your identity. We will carry out the request within 10 working days at the latest.
If you signed in with Facebook: in addition to deleting your account as described above, you can remove Chefy's access in your Facebook settings (Settings → Apps and Websites). This prevents Facebook from passing any new data to us, but it does not delete the data we already hold — to do that, use one of the methods described above.
2. What is deleted
As soon as you confirm deletion, the following are deleted:
- your email address, name, nickname, phone number, photo and bio;
- your password and all sign-in tokens (you will be signed out on all devices), as well as the link to your Google, Facebook or Apple account;
- your saved recipes, weekly menu, pantry, shopping list, food diary and other personal records;
- your comments, ratings and likes;
- your points and invitation code;
- your consent records, except those we are required by law to keep (see section 3);
- your "Home Kitchen" cook profile and listings.
Published recipes and photos: when you delete your account, you choose whether they are deleted as well or remain on the website anonymously, without the author being named.
3. What is kept and for how long
- Record of a gift issued (which gift, when and of what value, without your name) — for accounting purposes, for the period set by law (6 years). Delivery details (name, phone number, address) are deleted 12 months after delivery.
- Record of your consent to, and cancellation of, the newsletter subscription — 1 year from the end of the subscription, as required by law.
- Email address and phone number of a blocked account — if the account was blocked for breaking the rules, for as long as the block remains in force.
- Materials relating to an ongoing complaint or legal dispute — until the dispute is concluded.
- "Home Kitchen" requests in which you were the buyer or the cook — 12 months from the completion of the request, to protect the rights of the other party; after that, the phone number, address and note are deleted.
- Backups — data is automatically deleted from them within 30 days at the latest.
- Server technical logs — within 90 days at the latest.
4. Deleting only some of your data
If you want to keep your account but delete specific data (for example, a recipe, a comment, your food diary or your phone number), you can do this yourself in My account or in the app. If you are unable to delete something, write to us at [email protected].
